i'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this. Last year, I grossed a little over $7500. I own my own business, but rarely get in because of increasing health issues. There are only two of us, and it doesn't work with just one person.
Anyway, my insurance premiums per month has been raised to $700 a month. With Obama care just starting, i'm afraid to petition for lower premiums. There will be kinks that have to be worked out and I don't want to be caught in the middle. Losing the coverage I have is not an option. Medications, blood draws every three months etc. I'm a fifty year old male and have had to borrow from my elderly parents for the last few years just to pay minimum bills. i guess I probably qualify for medicaid or medicare, but I'm afraid of the problems and loss of coverage. Does anyone have a good understanding of the health care system for people with little money? I'd appreciate any input. Sam2 |

*Sigh* I don't think so. I know I don't.
Maybe you could talk to someone at the doctor's office the next time you go? Or at least ask them who you might talk to about such things. Good luck! |

You qualify for free medical care of that is all the money you made. Call social services and explain the situation. They will get you taken care of once the paperwork is processed.
