I have been on job seekers allowance for a while now but its been making me feel worse and worse because id avoid actually applying for anything I thought id get because I couldnt cope going to the interviews and things like that because talking to people gives me panic attacks, so recently I decided I couldnt do it anymore but I cant exactly go without the money and id been thinking for a long time id like to go self employed selling my art and crafts online so I decided why not? It means I can do what I love and not have to talk to people I dont want to. I recently finished my business plan but its taken longer than I thought it would through having to do meetings with this guy whose helping me but the stresses and worries that people wont buy my stuff or that it just plain wont work are really starting to get to me and I still need to find a grant to help me start I just keep freaking out and I keep feeling like giving up

SAME issue here.
I actually didn't apply for unemployment because I was too afraid they would't give it to me because I walked out of my last job. I also didn't defer my student loans because I didn't want to acknowledge the situation. At least you used good common sense.

Congratulations! You don't want to work for someone else and have a limited salary ceiling so you're creating your own job and becoming your own boss! Wow! How exciting. I'm going to do that too, I just need to work for a couple more years to save up for the business expenses, like a website. This goal is literally what is keeping me going, and looking forward to a brighter future. Even if the business starts out slow, I know I won't give up because it will continue to grow eventually even if it takes some time - that's how a lot of businesses start out. If you have something that you make of value to others, there will always be people wanting to buy your product. Think about the guy who first started Starbucks - that was literally one shop at one time. Now there's like thousands of them across the world. Do your best at creating the best product and you will receive money, period. Build it, and they will come. It takes a special person to be self employed, and people like us have an advantage because we work best alone - something they never really explained to us in school. Because school is aimed towards working for others, or being part of a team. No one really acknowledges the accomplishments of people who wander off and start their own gigs until they're already successful. Think of all the intelligent people who started their own businesses who were considered loners or somehow socially inept and they made a huge payday on their skills and their own personal work ethics and ideas.
