I just got a new job and will be starting this Wednesday, but I unfortunately made the mistake by self-harming. Is there a possibility I could get fired because of this? If I were to cover up, I could do so, but I don't have many long sleeved shirts. Would employers be upset if they saw them or fire me because they find it disturbing?

It depends what sort of work you'd be doing, in my opinion. And how understanding they'd be. Difficult to tell.
I'd invest into some more long-sleeved shirts, it's autumn and winter's coming anyway.
Thanks for this!

I definitely think you should cover up to be safe! It's unfair for people to judge, but it's a part of your private life, and work is public. Also, it sounds like you don't want your new employers to butt in on your privacy anyways.
