In highschool I thought I wanted to be an artist. So I went to college for art. But I failed. Now I think I want to be a writer and I have a few book ideas I want to write but will I succeed as a real writer or will I lose motivation along the way. I want to work in a library but I've done some research and it looks like I need to go to college for the higher positions. My mom and dad wants me to find a job I love and stick with it. But I love so many different things that its hard for me to pick a fav. And when I see that I'm not as good as others I get discouraged and lose my motivation. A curse of being intp personality.

I know how you feel. I like writing, but it can be easy to be discouraged or lose focus. What kind of art do you do? At least with art, you have a ready made product to sell. I have a friend who has worked for a greeting card company, a comic-book company, but mostly has just done his own freelance thing. There are so many outlets for painting and drawing.

Hello Varahh, finding a job in this day and age that you can stick to is difficult and you are also in the process of finding yourself. It is good that you have some idea of what you would like to do. You like books and want to write, that is wonderful, I would suggest doing some research, contact other writers and find out how they started. Follow your passion!

You are not the only one. Maybe you just need a bit more time to figure all out.
