I'm bored at my current job and need more money. I had a really good interview last week, but just found out they gave it to someone who already worked at that company before. It's so unfair. That has nothing to do with whether or not they're qualified! How can I compete when most places aren't even hiring based on skills and talent??

RR13 sorry you did not get the job. It is still a very competitive work place and good jobs are scarce. More people are looking now that gave up.

Don't give up - hang in there.

Until I make enough money to support myself though, I'm stuck having to still depend on my toxic parents. It's hard to get over abuse when you have to still face it week after week.

It's hard to face rejection, and when you are trying to get yourself out of a bad situation it must be a million times worse.

Hello, rr13.

I'm very sorry that your application was rejected, and I can understand your need to get away from your parents. Rejection of any kind sucks big time. There's no doubt about that.

But keep trying, friend. Send your cv to every company you can think off and then some. Don't give up. Something will come eventually.

We wish you the best of luck, and truly hope that a great job comes through for you.
Take care.

I can relate on so many levels. All I ever get are temp jobs. Lived with my mom for years trying to get on my feet, she drug me down in her ways, charging me for every little thing, plus rent. Anything that went wrong was always my fault. Tried to sabatoge my marriage, thought she succeeded than kicked me out, jobless. He took me back, but because he travels and has a fine to pay hotels are our home these days.

What I hate too is when you email them back asking for feedback on what skills or experience you were lacking so you can improve yourself, they either don't respond at all or they tell you they hired someone who already worked at their company. Which means your interview was a courtesy and a waste of your time! That's what I found out about the rejection a few days ago.

That angers me really, they are doing outside interviews to fulfill some reqirement, just like posting a job they already have someone in mind to hire. This world sucks.
