I left my job at the supermarket on thursday.
Today I got a letter from the supermarket's overall HR department saying that they were writing to confirm that my leaving date will be on the 11th June and will be paid accordingly. That's next week!
I'm going to the supermarket on monday in the hopes that I can explain things to the office staff. I hope they can sort things out before I'm overpaid and before the incorrect P45 form is sent.

Can't stop worrying about it.

I'm sorry this is causing you to worry so much. I bet it happens more often then you think. It's a pretty simple mistake, and hopefully once you talk to your store, they can get it figured out.

If you're still worried though, do you have a number for HR directly? That way you could call them and let them know about the mistake, and you'd know it was taken care of?

Good luck!
Thanks for this!

Do you have any vacation/sick leave time coming? Maybe they tack it on to the end? Hope it's something like that and they're not expecting you to keep working.

That's what I was thinking, like IowaFarmGal mentions, you could be getting a week's severance pay or something. I would hope for the more pay rather than worry :-) I'm sure you can get it straightened out tomorrow.

Thank you for your kind replies, everyone! It's sorted!
I was only in the supermarket for a minute. Told me they'd already realized the mistake and had phoned HR to correct it. They were looking at me like I was really stupid. I knew that I wouldn't have been overpaid due to the clocking in/out system but I would have felt slightly dishonest and irresponsible for not telling them about the mistake. And I would have been obsessing over the thought that maybe there would some incredibly important reason that I should have told them.

You did great. And, I'm with you, I would feel dishonest if I were in the same position and didn't let anyone know. So, good for you - you did the right thing. And, I'm really glad that it's all been taken care of you, and you can rest easy now!
