I've been at this new place for 6 weeks and just wasn't my thing. I knew that and so I called my former boss Friday and was on the schedule for a work meeting from 5-7 tonight. It wasn't a good fit and the people were not even remotely friendly. I just told my closest friend from the earlier job...she's excited as were other friends at the meeting.
I've worked many crappy jobs over the years and quit my share too for one reason or another. This is a first! I knew my boss would want me back and am so relieved. Feel so good... |

Sometimes knowing where you don't want to be is as helpful as knowing where you do want to be (or at least think you do)! Six weeks gives you a pretty good feel for something. Good for you for doing what is best for you.

I was kind of in the same situation a few years ago. I left a job that I had been at for almost 13 years (hated every minute of it) for a new job. I knew after just two weeks that it wasn't going to work out. Went and talked to the owners of the store that I worked at during and a few years after high school and they hired me back right on the spot. I'm glad they did because I would have had to go back to the previous job and it was hell.

Yeah. If you enjoy your job, that's for you. If not, you have to quit.
