I work two 5 hr shifts a week and due to issues I have to call in sick 1 out of 4 days. 75% of the employees have a disability and out of 30 employees, 2-5 call in sick each day.I always thought I made up for my absence by working extra hard and doing a more detailed cleaning than all my coworkers. I definitely believe that I can do tasks better than the others. I've worked there for 3 yrs and all my evals have been needs improvement on work and attendance and several other categories. At the bottom of this evaluation, my supervisor wrote, no improvement since last eval. I completely disagree but don't know if it's part of my mental issue, delusions of grandier. Frustrated but very grateful to have a job.
Working defines my week and is my only socialization and sense of accomplishment. I called in sick yesterday, pray I don't get fired.

Hello Utopia 1969: I'm sorry you are experiencing this difficulty. Would it be possible to ask your supervisor for some specifics with regard to how you can improve your performance on the days you are able to be at work? It sounds like your assessment of your performance, & your supervisor's, are not in synch. It might be a good idea if you could figure out what her / his perspective is with regard to the work you're performing. It's tough to know how to improve if you don't know what it is specifically you're not doing that your supervisor thinks you should be. Good luck!

I agree with the above poster, if you can ask for specifics (your review should have included them, but some managers are clueless about this). It will give you a better idea of what they are seeing and if it matches to what you think.
