I've been messing up at work lately and it's making me depressed and anxious becuase I know my manager is going to give me another talking to. I've been depressed for the past 4 days and today she works so I know it's going to happen today. I don't know how to get over it I feel like I have to do everything perfectly there so it stresses me out.

Oh apples sorry you are having a hard time at work. I am retired now but when I was working I used life style changes to help me cope better. When the stress got too much I retreated to the bathroom and practiced mindfulness or exercised till things were manageable.

Here are some of the things that help me. I have to watch what I eat because foods I eat can stabilize my moods or exaggerate them. A high protein low carb diet with snacks or meals every 3-4 hours will over time reduce my swings. I also avoid alcohol and recreational drugs because those can really increase depression.

Other lifestyle changes that help me are doing yoga, exercises, mindfulness, calm music, and being active on Psych Central.

Besides helping support each other many people here at PC also have a therapist to talk things out and a psychiatrist or psych doc to diagnose and prescribe meds to help balance things our.

The depression chat meets every Thursday night 9pm. Anxiety chat on Friday night 8pm EST.

Some people find the forums give them the compassion and empathy they seek. http://forums.psychcentral.com

I too am having a horrible time at work. There's a girl there that just has it out for me I swear. Whenever she walks into work my heart races. We don't have an office manager there at the moment but she kind of has seniority so ppl go to her. She has yelled and ran off instead of calmly talking to me which I put all that on her. I'm so nice to her and I get nothing but attitude in return. There's one at every job though I think!
