Anyone have experience and/or suggestions about FMLA in regards to having something like BP II? I don't know what to do at this point.

When I got FMLA for my illness, the nurse/doctor wrote a letter stating that I needed time undetermined amount of time off. The manager at my job completed the FMLA request form for me because I was still hospitalized and the matter was closed. However, my job does not pay for FMLA unless you have unpaid vacation days and when that ran out that was it for me.

I ended up getting a second letter from doctors requesting/suggesting I work part-time only. That was 3 years ago and I am still working part-time...well atleast thru December because my job is ending (business is closing).

I'm not sure if this was helpful or not, but I wish you the best.
Thanks for this!

I did this recently. (medical leave) The forms don't state the illness but mine did say I was under the care of a psychologist Your confidentiality is well protected. Yes your doctor can release you to full work duties when your leave ends or set restrictions (limited hours)

It preserves your job and health insurance but you don't receive pay unless you cash in vacation days. Best of luck!
