Hello everyone,

I'm writing in here because I do not have anyone to talk to in real life about it..

Anyway, sometimes last year ( Oct), I saw a job advert for a Sales Consultant, and I applied. I Was called in for interview and training afterwards...But they didn't seem like they wanted me or to me it seemed like they were not serious...I kept going for this training, which is far from my house but will be told to go back home bla bla..this went on for 2 weeks. .Then I stopped going all together cos I was just wasting transport fare and again at that office, they are 98% whites...there's only one black girl and the cleaner...and the training lady don't always speak English...it was quite tough for me during training but I persevered cos I have been unemployed for years and it was beginning to affect my mood and self confidence till I couldn't anymore..

So, 3 days ago I see this company placed advert again...hmmm...I'm still unemployed. Today , I called the lady, spoke to her, reminding her who i was and she told me she'll be happy to still have me back, I reminded her that I have already been trained, so she said I could come in on next Monday morning...

I feel happy, not cos this is even a basic salary paying job but commission based, but cos at least I will be leaving the house...My husband ( who I hope to divorce soon )over time has referred to me as 'lazy' and all...but I know I have just not being lucky with jobs...and again my unemployed state has made me defaulted with taking care of my parents...

Now, i feel happy. I will give this sales job a shot, give it all of my best...

I just need an advise though: how do I excel at this job? I think i am a good sales person but I really want to close deals and make money out of this....

Background of this job: Its a call center where we do cold calling selling stocks...no not quite. We call prospective clients and then ask if they can meet with the consultant who will then do the real selling. This prospective client must be qualified and all so the consultant going to meet with the client doesn't waste his time...you get?

I just need be able to do this, I do not want to give up on this ..I intend to put all myself into this, it will make me feel better about myself on the long run...so, any advise will be appreciated from seasoned sales people....

Thank you for reading...

Find other people who are successful at this at your company and emulate what they do.
