It's tough to start out but you will gather experience as you go.

Volunteer work?
Some people gain job experiences by doing volunteer work first.

Catch-22. Some employers must take a leap of faith on fresh employees. What's your field if I may ask?

Try an unpaid internship. Great way to get real work experience.

At one point I was kind of unemployable because of little experience and getting laid off immediately after starting a job.

I Looked for an employer who was small and I went in for an interview. They guy seemed like he wanted to hire me but didn't want to take a chance.

So I suggested that I work for him for free for 6 weeks. If at the end of that time he didn't want to keep me.. all I would ask would be for a good reference. If, however, he wanted to hire me, he could.

It worked. I think he liked my get up and go and by the time the 6 weeks was over I was ensconced in his business.
