It is my job to manage my bosses business. At first, he was very attentive. But after about 3 years he completely blows me off, rather constantly, and also, constantly makes excuses.

For instance I place a file on his desk, tell him it is on his desk, and when he doesn't do anything with it, it ends up on his bookcase and that was why he couldn't do the work and or find it. Even though we know that is bull.

I am constantly reminding him about things and he doesn't do them. On the one hand I want to stop and not be put in the nag situation but, if he doesn't do them, and everything falls to heck... he is always looking for a scape goat and right now, he finds other people but eventually -- you know it, it will be me.

So sick of having to nag him.

Do you think he is unhappy with his job? I wonder if he doesn't care about the work like he once did and might even be wanting a change. You are trying to help him, so it is probably something going on with him.

I think he is lazy. I think that he thought the job would be 1/4th of the amount of work that it is. At the same time, he wants to do everything when 1/2 could be delegated. He likes to spend 1/2 his day talking with people and shooting the breeze... and sort of resents me "nagging" him.

Though technically that is my job.
