My life's work has been to help youth in crisis, youth with mental illness. To help youth and families cope. 2 years ago I myself, became very ill with schitzo affective disorder. I was very parinoid and unstable. I began thinking my co workers were out to get me. I had a breakdown on the job. I realized I couldn't even help the youth because I was to sick. This broke my heart and I soon lost my job. Up until recently, I thought it was all a conspiracy by the staff. I realized my reality was highly scewed. I recently found a great dr. Whom started me on Seriquill and explained my dx. if the Doc and I can get me stabilized, I may be able to work again. I know I'm not ready yet as the littlest thing can send me into a snowball. When did y'all know you were ready for work?

Hi, I don't have a good answer for your question, but it sounds like you are on a good path to someday get back to your life's work!

When you can manage to work even when you have symptoms. It usually takes me a year and a half to get back to work after an episode. The pdoc told me that I probably won't be able to work full time anymore.what did your Dr tell you?

My Dr. Said that hopefully one day I'll be able to work. I know I won't be going back to working with youth In crisis, as it is so stressful. And of course that stress triggers me. Thinking I'd love to work in a vet clinic or something working with animals.
