I'm having difficulty with my voice on the phone at work. When I am on a call, my voice sounds weak and nervous to me. Lately, I feel like I am losing my voice when talking too long on the call. I'll be discussing a project and I feel like my words are fading out. I don't have this problem as much in meetings in-person.
I considered that maybe no one notices, but people seem to get apologetic with me as if they feel I am upset. My company is having more and more conference calls instead of in-person meetings, so I want to get better at sounding confident. Not sure how to do that... |

hi Yzen, not sure if this advice will help so apologies in advance if not. if you're talking on the phone to someone you know, maybe visualizing them while you talk to them (as though they were in front of you) may help. if it's someone you don't know, put a face to them according to their voice. you've never spoke to a stranger on the phone and got an image in your head of how you think they may look by their voice? idk, sorry but that's all i can think of atm. hope you get some better answers soon.

Thank you, carrie_ann. I wonder if I get anxious when talking without the feedback of seeing another person's face. On the phone there is no way to get any visual idea of reassurance or the person's reaction. I like your idea of visualizing a face when I talk. That might help.
