Is it me or am I being offered positions that have nothing to do with what I'm currently doing? I'm a lead managing 30 agents in a call center. I've been with my employer for a year and a lead for a month. These recruiters are still sending me lower level one jobs like wtf? My phone kept going off today by them calling. I told them I have 3 yrs total of level one doesn't make sense for me to take the same job elsewhere and I'm not learning anything else out of it.
I'm not applying to jobs the jobs are coming to me. Well I applied to 2 job offers that was it. Im asking for more pay within reason none of these staffing places are bulging. Feel like putting the job search on a halt until hplidays calm down. Such a waste of time.... |

Is your current employment permanent?
Do these recruiters work on commissions and quotas? |

A lot of recruiters tend to work by commissions. They claim that they're about helping the company make money, but I don't see how putting people in incompatible positions helps the company.

I get contacted by recruiters all the time, often through LinkedIn, for positions that are below my experience level. I had one recruiter come to me with a job that was actually lower than my experience level but the pay was really high. When she asked me what my salary expectation was, and I named the high range of the salary range she had given to me for the job, she asked me why they should pay me that much when it's a huge jump from what I'm currently making. I wanted to yell at her, you coaxed me into this job interview by telling me this job paid that much. Why would I accept something lower than what you told me the range was? Also, my current job has certain fringe benefits to it that you aren't offering, and what I get paid elsewhere has no relevance to what I am worth to you or worth period. I may take a job with a smaller organization that has larger prestige so I can have that organization on my resume. Doesn't mean that what they pay is what I'm worth. Ug.
Seriously, recruiters have their heads up their asses. I do not know why companies use them in the first place. Seesaw

Thank U! I don't feel me taking a lower end help desk job is gonna help me. I'll get even more disinterested I don't care if it paid more. I'm a team lead find me something similar then we'll talk.

Seems then, that these recruiters are only looking to fillvquotas. Almost like spamming and cold calling everyone and anyone that may have signed up before. Permanent jobs are sometimes the devil that you know being better. |

Yep trying to fill quotas. Every job I read is temp work and perm jobs want 5 yrs experience plus a higher degree. They don't seem to read resumes correctly
