I have an anxiety disorder and my anxiety is through the roof over my new job. I cannot stand it. It's so hard for me-- every aspect of this position is hard for me right now. The learning curve is steep, I am learning how to work in an office setting again, an open floor plan no less, and how to be around people again professionally. I feel awkward and uncomfortable. That being said, I handed in my first project and was told it was fantastic, so there's that.

I'm pretty sure I made a mistake. I resigned from my internship, but now I want to retract the resignation letter.

I'm working as an on call massage therapist. I like it because I don't have to sit around the spa all day and wait on clients. It is difficult when I'm out grocery shopping or up in another town when they inevitably call and I have to race home, get dressed and zip down to the spa asap. It is only 3 minutes from my house.
I love having a job. I feel respected and I love the paycheck. Plus the owners and everyone I work with are very nice. I think that makes all the difference. |

I got my time off for my vacation. The schedule came out today and I’m off that week. I was really stressing about it. I know I had gotten permission months ago from many people, But I was still worried. Actually in the break room today someone was talking to someone else about how she asked for time off awhile ago, for next week. They told her they couldn’t find her request form so they didn’t give her that week off. She also said that they did that another time, when she had actual vacation plans. She had to bring in her airline ticket, and hotel reciepts and it was a huge deal. So while I don’t have to worry now, it does happen to people at my job.

Another disappointment today. I was accused and almost blamed on someone else's mistake. I was able to prove myself since I have the evidence, but I'm still disappointed and a little bit angry. I feel so unappreciated over the things I've done good before.

I had to put more time in for another vacation. I’m hoping it won’t be an issue. I said I could work half of one day. The day I usually work. The next day I don’t usually work anyways, the next day is a holiday and I doubt they want to pay me time and a half. So maybe I’m doing them a favor. Then the last day I asked for off I do usually work, but I’ve worked 4 days in a row before with no problem.
I did ask before this trip if they had a limit on how many days you could ask for off, and they said no. People take a month off to go to different countries... This is my last trip and then I really can focus on the holiday season. |

I’m getting more hours then my other coworkers. Sometimes as many as 7 more. I have been told that management likes the way I work. But I also have an open schedule, and in my interview I said I wanted a 20 hour a week job. I don’t think it’s favoritism necessarily. It’s just that there have been rumblings at work these past two days. I’m hoping they won’t amount to anything. I don’t want to get on my coworkers bad side. I like and get along with these coworkers too.

Yesterday was a disaster. I almost caught up in one of troublesome coworker's workplace drama. I have only minor/small involvement in it, but it'd lead me to a big trouble.

I found out today that a manager who I get along great with, is apparently being rude and nasty to other coworkers. Its someone’s last day next week and she admitted she was leaving because of him. She said she wanted to go to coporate, but it was easier to just walk away.
I am confused. I’m not doubting what they are saying though. I just thought he would be the way he is with me, with everyone. Unless they are the ones giving him trouble and starting stuff? Even today he was talking with me just fine and being nice. I don’t cause any trouble at work, or comment on anything. They completely switched my schedule around and I didn’t even say anything. I just worked the new hours. A lot of people complain. Do you think maybe they are the problem and not this manager? Wouldn’t a good manager be the same with all his employees? |

hi everyone
i'm currently working as a receptionist, filling in for someone who is on maternity leave. she is meant to come back at the end of august, and i'm dreading looking for another job. i'm studying part time too, and it took ages to build up the mental strength to be able to work almost full time. i worked at this place for a couple of years in a very part-time role, but have done the last few months almost full time. the legalities of it are very vague, though, like i don't have a contract etc and there has been no clear discussion of whether i'm going to have any part time work once this is over. it's a small business and i am related to one of the part-owners, so it's very casual. this has been great in the way i have been able to have some flexibility, but i feel uncertain now. in the past when i worked full time i have ended up in hospital both times, and had to start again from scratch trying to get part time work again. i'm scared of trying to get another job and being around all new people and trying to learn a whole lot of new stuff. at the moment i struggle sometimes, like clients are really rude and impatient, but i've got a lot better. just venting... |

I was asked to stay longer today and to come In tomorrow on my day off. I feel pretty good about this. No one else was asked to stay longer. I don’t mind coming in on my day off since I got to pick hours so I’m working a few early in the morning.

Hi
Not posted on the site for a while. I have social anxiety and I'm a serial job quitter. I feel like I don't fit anywhere and no one wants me around. I actually feel really tired of running away and want to try and improve. In second week of new job and have been hanging on by my nails to try and push through my emotions. I get so stressed having to make small talk, although I do try and push myself to try. Very paranoid about being judged and the way I come across. My brain either freezes or I blurt out something stupid. Still hanging in there though as I know these things take time and hopefully I will settle in eventually. |

A coworker got fired today. I feel kind of sad about it. Even though it was definitely his fault.
