I finished part of a project for the pet food company so I feel accomplished. I tried to sell some stuff for commissions today as well. Given it's Black Friday am hoping to get some commissions, it's early to tell as I think there's a lag in the system. Cyber Monday is coming and am having a sale in my online store.

It’s funny that if you do things just a little bit differently it can mess up your whole routine. Today The times I started and ended were just slightly different then usual, but the amount of hours were the same. The whole day just dragged on. I thought for sure I had been there for over 2.5 hours but I found out I had barely been there an hour. Then I had to take my break really early and awhile after that I thought for sure my shift would be over in half an hour. It turned out I still had 1.5 hours left. But it went really well today.

I started a new job at an awesome biotech after working at a fancy university and it’s been going great, but I really enjoyed the long weekend and don’t want to go back to full time.
I always feel a bit guarded doing the corporate thing while dealing with my mood disorder. I feel like I have to hide.
My new job is also a lot of responsibility and I’m pretty young and inexperienced so I doubly want to appear “normal”.

Anyone else in the same boat? Tips?

I was distracted today. My coworker was being obnoxious. I wish someone would see the inappropriate things she does but she only does them in front of me. I don’t really feel like making a big deal out it. I’d love it though if someone else would see it and make a big deal out of it. It’s disgusting and very distracting.

I know it’s incredibly ridiculous to be worried about Black Friday 2019, but I’m planning ahead. After reading Black Friday horror stories it looks like my options for a second job that I can actually handle with my anxiety are either grocery (not anywhere that sells anything besides grocery’s) or a receiving job at a paid thrift store. What’s the worst the thrift store can do? Have a 50% off sale? They already do it once a week. It’s like meds that cause weight gain. I’m just doing my homework so I can avoid them.

My coworker is really immature and likes to scare people. Today I was doing a task and I was zoning out and remembering something anxiety provoking. Then all I hear is this really loud banshee type yell and she screams my name really loud. I jumped and then she started laughing uncontrollably about how vulnerable I looked. Grow the **** up.

Took a skills test for a new job but didn't pass. I'm allowed to retake the test after 30 days, I may do that.

I’ve been under a lot of stress and I got irritated at a coworker. She had an attitude back at me. I felt bad and apologized to her when I got back from where I had went. she immediately accepted my apology and we were fine the rest of the day.

All day though I felt like I needed to majorly chill out.

I was in the same boat as you about 30 years ago. What I wish someone had told me back then was to get a mentor. Find a hobby that immerses you so it becomes acceptable to others that you don't do corporate activities because you're training for a marathon, in a chess tournament or whatever. Socialise through that outside work and do the minimum to get by at work (in terms of mixing with people). Be fairly open about being geeky/ introverted/ shy so people won't think you're arrogant or hate them or something stupid. Have therapy regularly. Make a little box of calming things to take with you, with whatever makes you feel safe in it (soft toy, candy, comic, photos etc). And don't worry too much, try to enjoy what you're learning and doing. It will work out.

Work went pretty good despite my crippling anxiety. People were saying the manager wasn’t in a good mood. He wasn’t yelling or being rude, so I didn’t see what the issue was.

Some coworkers were complaining that the company does absolutely nothing for the employees for Christmas. I think thats not really true. They bring in pizza and snacks and catered food in all the time. She was complaining because the company doesn’t give us gift cards. Which also isn’t true. I’ve gotten two gift cards at diffrent times of the year. You have to work for them, they just don’t give them to you. None of my other jobs did anything for their employees. So to say that this company does absolutely nothing for their employees is kind of rude.

I work 6 days in a row starting Tomorrow. I don’t get why I’m scheduled like that. I don’t know of anyone else who gets scheduled that way. The most I’ve worked in a row is 4 days. I did ask for a couple days off at Christmas. I hope I get those days off. I’ll know in a couple days. I’m kind of irked though about this 6 day thing.

I got to work this morning and I just got confused at how we were doing things. I hope I didn’t sound like I was being difficult. I was just trying to figure out what was going on. I usually just work with one other person instead of 3 other people. I was just trying to figure out who was working with who and where I was supposed to be and stuff like that. I almost had to leave due to physical reasons, but I held on and the feeling passed fairly quickly. The day actually turned out to be pretty fun and I enjoyed the people I was working with.

Going to see how long it's been since I failed the skills test for a job, I may be able to retake it now.

Work wasn’t bad today. It wasn’t good either. I didn’t get yelled at by anyone. I was out on the floor all day and the store was busy. So it could have gone badly. I just wish there was more work for me to do. But it’s how retail is the few days after Christmas. I wonder how this weekend will go.

Work went pretty good today for me. My coworker yelled at the store manager. I’m kind of surprised she wasn’t fired. But I don’t know. Maybe she will be. My mom said what she said could fall under insubordination. What she was saying about him behind his back could have gotten her arrested if the wrong people had been listening.

I have been having trouble working lately because I have been struggling with insomnia. When I can't sleep, I can't think. I can't read or even listen to the radio or watch TV. So work becomes virtually impossible. Thankfully, I think I'm now getting back on track.

My new coworker quit her second job because she’s not getting any hours, but she thinks these holiday hours at my job are going to continue. I found out that the hours are going to get cut drastically. To something like 8 hours a week. I kind of feel bad for this coworker. I wish someone had told her before she had made that choice.

Tomorrow is the last holiday, but I already feel so much better. I can function normally again.

It made me realize that work is the source of my depression.

Opposite for me. I can not wait for the holidays to be over and begin with a new year. When I am not working, or keeping myself busy with activities, I get sad and lost in my own world of chaos. The connections I make when I am able to brave into the world, are very important to me.
