Today one of my coworkers who is in her 40s or 50s made a cake. She only let specific people have some: my manager who didn’t get a piece said he was not “invited.” To have a slice.

This coworker is kind of odd. She’s very cliquish with the people who are 20 years younger then her. She will also give equipment to specific people instead of people who actually need it.

It’s almost like she got bullied or wasn’t accepted when she was in school.

But who makes a cake but only lets certain people have some?

Who knows. Maybe I’m just upset I wasn’t invited. The cake looked awfully good.

Does anyone else find this weird?

It was rude and exclusionary. She shouldn't have done that. Although, I have had that happen in the workplace before too. If she wanted to bring something in she should have shared it with everyone.

You can't really do anything about it. But yes, it was rude.

Yes that is very odd. Where I work, if someone brings food in for others, everyone is welcome to have some. It's called being a decent human being.

Sounds like she may have social issues or something that causes her not to see how things like that are socially unacceptable.
