Does anybody have any advice here on what to do with acting jobs or when people spread tales? I'm sure that has happened to me - a lot.
Anyway, I was supposed to be in five scenes of a feature film about a woman from China who comes to Scotland. After seeing the film a few nights ago, I noticed that I had several scenes cut out completely and one heavily edited, but it made no sense to edit that first scene because I feel as if it was important. One scene involved my sister and I being with kids, and in another, I was meant to give directions to a house for the director's sister-in-law, who played the main character. Keep in mind, that I had issues in the past with women, so I suppose if people knew about that, they may be wary of that, but maybe not cast it up. I've never told the guy who directed this film anything about me going to jail, nor did I state anything about prior accusations or my former support people. Do you think he knows something through people on Facebook messaging him? It just seemed that a lot of my scenes with others got cut or edited out. Keep in mind, that I've told people on here before that some users on social media relating to films did spread gossip about me before. Recently, I pressed the issue with some folk and had my worst fears confirmed. Sorry if this seems pointless. But I've always been quite suspicious of people and my sister agreed that something ain't quite right. I'm thinking of giving up on acting now because I cannot get support for it anyway. Let's do a poll. Should I continue to pursue acting, or should I just go join a theatre group and do amateur dramatics, or give up entirely? Even my family and my mate think something is not right here. My mother told me to stop spreading my business on the Internet, and while I know she is right, I'm inclined to do that a lot mainly because I need someone to talk to about my depression. Since that director is a minister with a church service, it wouldn't be right to ask him a bunch of questions over this or come across as unappreciative of the opportunity he provided, but having thought about this some more, it seems apparent now that he may at least know a little bit about my bad past and decided to omit certain scenes where I interact with certain people, as I guess he'd want to play it safe, but not hurt my feelings by making it obvious. The excuse he stated seemed rather dubious, if you don't mind me saying. |

I'm an actress as well.
I actually live in Los Angeles where I act in commercials and some films, I think the best thing to do is do what makes you happy. (And pays the bills.) If theatre is better for you because the rumors don't follow you there, do that. I'd also suggest moving to London, if you move, rumors usually won't follow you |

I was only in England once, but just around the border. London is far from Edinburgh. However, I agree that London has more work, as they have a studio there for that sort of thing. Also, does anybody ever state on a CV that they've been an extra in any movies?
