I just got laid off on Tuesday. My bosses boss scheduled a meeting with me out of the blue. The subject matter "touch base". I walked into the meeting thinking about new tasks and assignments. Instead I got the boot. No thanks after working for this company for 6 years, just goodbye.
What's next? I'm ready to retire and to pursue my passions, but it still feels painful dealing with rejection. I'm thinking why me? But this too will pass. ![]() |

It sucks. You will get thru it. It happened to me at one place I was for 10 years. And those 10 years were miserable. Bullied for 10 years, then chewed up and spit out.
Maybe this is a good chance now for you to retire. Or can you do something part time if you still have the itch? I know it's easier said than done. Just don't get too down and watch your health. I read an article that the stress of losing one's job is almost the same as what people who have heart attacks suffer. Remember, you will get thru this. |

I have been laid off before and the feeling is awful. If I were you and going to retire, just enjoy life from now and don't look back. Who needs them? Yes, this will also pass like all things in life.

I go forth today not knowing if I will still have a job by the end of today.
I have been at this job for fifteen years. I'm just scared right now... |

I was laid off in 2017. My face still burns, even though 34 people were laid off the same day. You'll be okay, I promise. Time passes. Do your venting here. People will listen. I just heard the other day that the person who laid me off was herSELF laid off last week. Hah! Karma.
