I tried several jobs in the past electrician, electronical technician and I didn't found my passion from these jobs. Now I'm trying to see if plumbing is a good career for me but I'm not 100% sure of me and my parents are telling me to go to college. What should I do?I have a few things in life that I like but these are more for fun than for work and these are travelling, writing, fixing things.

Hello wolly: I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral!
![]() ![]() I'm sorry I don't think I can really be of much help with regard to your concern. ![]() ![]() Of course, getting a college education can certainly be a great thing. ![]() ![]() Beyond that I think it's mostly just a matter of what you see yourself doing in years to come. I do think it's really important to be happy doing whatever you do. Working is a big part of a person's life. So if you're not happy doing what you do, it just makes everything in your life that much more difficult. Perhaps one option for you might be to get some vocational testing or assessment somewhere that would help you to figure out what you'd most like to do & what you'd be best suited for given your personal skills & abilities. ![]() Anyway... that's probably not really all of that much help. But these are my thoughts with regard to your post. My best wishes to you... ![]() |
