Yesterday I was super excited to go to this interview at a dog day care! I love dogs... and the guy was so ugh, I just could not agree to the job in the end, sadly

He was completly arrogant... constantly talking about how wonderful he is to work with and how his place is the best dog day care to ever exist etc

He told me he is a clean freak and loves quiet/serenity. That keeping everything spotless and the place quiet are top priority

As he was touring it with me.... he starts yelling "Shut your pie hole" to the dogs and explained that you gotta be stern with them, there is no barking tolerated there. (YIKES!)

Then was saying that you are not supposed to be loving on the dogs at all... pet them briefly but otherwise just stand and watch.

The pay was terrible as well but wow... the yelling thing I could just not get over

Also, he was hitting on his 19 year old employee --he told me her age and then he starts talking about going to the bar with him later and he was probably 40 or so.

What a terrible and weird interview

I hate you had that experience. I would call the SPCA and let them know about the yelling and no barking allowed.

This doggie day care owner needs to be reported. I'm so sorry about your interview experience, you sound perfect for the job but this jerk definitely does NOT need to be caring for animals He sounds horrid. I would definitely report (you can do so anonymously) him to authorities. I believe doggie day care businesses need certain licensing, so perhaps that is a good channel for reporting. His behavior was abusive.

I hope you find something else! (hugs)

How very strange, DP. I think it's great that you stuck to your own values and integrity. Something better will come along for you I'm sure.
