We recently got an email at work about my office and how people don't show up daily. They are still cleaning house. I applied 4 a receptionist job at a marijuana company and no response from them. My employer is not the company i was promised 2 yrs ago.

I'm still getting offers for phone work jobs i dont want jusy less money. Less money i cant afford to live off since i live by myself. I have no desire 4 a roomie.

Anyway, omg nothing but call center jobs open in Arizona. I hate this type of work. Im still exploring other opportunities still not finding a niche yet. Recruiters still not sticking around when i need them and wasting my time. Applying to companies websites barely hearing back from them.

If i had more money in the bank, i think id quit my job and live off the money until i found something. Really unwind myself from my awful job.

Im just venting about this frustrating job search. My resume is so updated and its summer not getting a lot of hits.

Does anybody know how to break into getting a job thru the community colleges? I used to work at one 2 yrs ago. Its so hard to get a job as they would rather hire their own internal people over an external person very picky.

I hit up ex coworkers told me nothing for a one year contract is open. So i still have to apply thru the back door.

—-please give us more info about you: age, education, job experience. It is very common for employers to pigeonhole people, that is, only look at the resumes of people who have done the same job. Taking classes is a great way to get into a new field. If your company is laying people off, be the best employee on the planet until you can get something else. I live in Phoenix and no matter how great they say the economy is right now, I am going to have to pay some really heavy dues to change fields or in fact to get a job in my previous field. Personally, I feel they want young highly trained people who speak Spanish. Long term, look for a field that is expected to have a lot of growth, take classes and get the most modest apartment you can. If u r in Phoenix, message me if u want help w your resume. I used to write professionally. Good luck!

I feel your pain, as I am going through a frustrating job search, myself. It really doesn't help to go through this on top of mental health concerns, especially if it also acts as a trigger. I know it doesn't help much, but there is a sight called Higher Ed Jobs that has listings across the spectrum of both faculty and staff jobs all over the country. It might be a place to start, if that is what you seek. (Sorry that I can't post a link, as I am a newbie and don't have the privilege yet; but it is higheredjobs dot com.)
Thanks for this!

If they want BS degree and you don’t have it then I wouldn’t bother applying.

So did you apply to adult entertainment industry job?

I havent found any yet. I just want to change jobs thats my main focus not taking classes ya know? Tired of asking around whos hiring. Oh im in a local job group on Facebook asking whos hiring in the area nothing but welding and call center jobs no thx i dont have welding experience.

Not sure what else to do. Updated resume 10k times still get the same boring job offers. I got offered a manager role not what i want right now. I feel so stuck at this current job

Nope more phone work. The only thing I'd enjoy is one of their schedules which is Monday thru Friday. I feel like i dont have many options to take because where i live has a lot of call centers

Im still getting job offers for phone work. Here we go i applied to two internal positions at work theres a vendetta against me anyway.

I want a work life balance job having an open availability not working 4 me at all

I understand your frustration. I hope something good comes your way. I’m thinking of doing some dispatch type work.

My daughter is dealing with this now. She has not been out of high school that long. She’s had two call center jobs and hated it. Now she has a data entry job and is about to work part-time at a health food restaurant. I caught up with a out of state friend about a week ago. She’s working at a college but she has a degree. I have a local friend that has been on her job for five years. She has applied for other positions in the company and keeps getting turned down because the positions require a degree. I asked her why she just did not go get her degree and she said, she’s never liked school. Her daughter is the opposite she’s in school getting her masters.
