I had plans after work. The truck wasn’t empty, but the next one got there really early. It came about 2 minutes before I had to leave. Should I have stayed and helped empty the old truck? Or was it ok to leave since I was scheduled to leave at that time anyways? I saw a couple managers on my way out and one said my coworkers were almost done anyways, and another one said it was ok and if I had to leave, I had to leave. Before that, On my way to clock out I told a manager I was leaving, and I asked if she neeeded anything before I went, and she said no. Still I feel bad that I just left while there was still stuff that had to be done.

I can relate to how you feel about leaving while work was pouring in. Yet, if there is one thing I do know about payroll is that extra hours are often in question which can be worse than leaving at the scheduled time when the truck came in later than expected.
Personally, I struggle with the moments of not being there when shipment rolls in because I'm at my most vulnerable as that's when one of the coworkers that likes to go straight to the top about everything and anything that could go wrong and wag her little finger in my direction-with or without merit-occurs.
That's neither here nor there in your feeling bad for leaving your coworkers with a pile of work.
Again payroll. It probably wouldn't have been justifiable. Welcome but not justfiable as it's up to those scheduled to get the work done during their scheduled hours.
You did ask, so go forth and feel absolved of whatever guilt you may feel. Asking if needed to management was all you could do. Plus it shows you are at least willing.

Nothing wrong with leaving something behind if there are people there to take care of it.

If it's a for profit corporation than I honestly wouldn't let it bother you, especially if the job in question doesn't pay particularly well.

It's not your job to stay after hours if they aren't willing to shell out overtime or comp time to compensate you for your trouble. If it was your time to clock out, than you aren't in the wrong.

Are you Salary? It's a very large difference between salary and hourly; if you're hourly I wouldn't worry at all; back when I worked retail if it was my time to be off I was out the door the moment it hit time off. I would only stay late if someone asked me to and even then that happened very rarely. Now if you are salary you could have stayed and are usually expected to stay late if a problem arises.
