I comment on what is posted, regardless of who is the person posting it. honestly don't really pay any attention as to who is posting (as per what person). I have posted in the forum many times. only offering honest comments. I might have unblocked you don't really know, don't really care, ...honestly I believe I could still see your posts even while blocked if I wanted too (I think there was an option to view it somehow) .

I don't pay you any special attention, please don't honor yourself. I saw a post and responded to it. what seems weird is that you checked my profile....

have a co worker who is just blatantly rude and ignorant. I was assigned part of the store to keep stocked and in shape. she was given a nearby area to be in charge of and has decided that my area is included in hers. I went to my supervisor and exolained it. and then the general store manager. all said for me to keep working on the portion of the store.

finally Saturday, this other employee begain telling me she would do my work and that was it. she felt the store manager & another supervisor told her it was HER responsibility and my supervisor be dammed.

my supervisor called a meeting with the 2 of us and this woman began screaming and stating that the supervisor was wrong and had no say in the matter. she demanded that she call the store manager on her day off, etc. finally she stormed out of the meeting. felt like I just watched someone lose their job. then she left work 2 hrs early.

she showed up on her day off to shop.
then on Monday her next work day and the day of the big meeting between her & all the supervisors, she called out sick. it will be very interesting to see how this all plays out.

seems like a real like version of "how to lose your job."

I have the flu or something. I Shouldn’t have been at work today. I Went in anyways since today was time and a half. Only a few people were working. Only 3 in my department. I guess they only had the employees working who had been there the longest and who are not full time. I also got holiday pay for Christmas. Score.

Work was pretty boring today. There wasn’t actually any work to be done after about 8:30. Just a bunch of little BS stuff to do. I wish they had sent us home early but it wasn’t a big deal to stay either. I work tomorrow too and I haven’t a clue as to what I’ll be doing. But, whatever.

How does someone go about telling their work place they are trans and will be transitioning? It almost seems easier to find a new job.

Question of the day:

How to remain sane and relatively happy in a totally dysfunctional work environment?

My saving graces:

At least I am happy outside of work
My loving husband
My loving friends and family

But each day is a struggle at work. Each week seems to get worse there. My boss is SO uninspiring - the leadership all around is lacking and uninspiring.

The other day my boss said to us that he was conspiring to come up with an excuse to be able to leave work. He walks around glum all day and clearly does not want to be there. What kind of effect would that have on a team? A totally negative one.

I applied for a job this weekend. That helped. My goal: one application per week.

And.... drum roll please. My company lost more business today because of bad leadership.

Stupid coworker thinking she's my boss today. And then the General Manager asking me how my holiday was. I was like, it was okay. He then made some snarky remark because I wasn't all like, oh it was so fabulous. Well, it wasn't and I don't think I should have to lie about it, just to make small talk. Humph.

There wasn’t much left to do anyways and I had already been there 8 hours. The manager said to me “why don’t you go home, you look tired.” I thought that was nice to be the first one to leave. I didn’t realize the extent of how I was feeling until I came home.

sorry i just need to vent. i am kind of new at this job and i had to get the bosses to sign this state hr doc. after they signed, it turned out the doc was done incorrectly but it wasn't my fault as i was just following instructions. the gal training me said the bosses were questioning the error so i asked her if i should ask the bosses if i needed to fix it. she said let it go. i really wanted to ask the bosses if they wanted me to fix the doc as their signatures were on it. normally i would have run that by the trainer again out of respect but she blamed me for the mistake and that really upset me. because of her attitude i did not consult with her again and i went straight to the bosses. they told me they wanted the error fixed. in the trainer's eye, i had disrespected her by bypassing her. that was strike one against me.

so the trainer told me to fix the doc a certain way and i did as she instructed. then that night, my friend, who works in another state hr dept, called to chat. i asked her how those docs were done in her hr dept. she said she they were done a totally different way. so then i was in a quandry. do i tell the trainer what my friend said? or do nothing? or ask my direct boss to clarify? i wasn't going to mention any of this to the trainer but most of it came out anyways except i didn't tell her whom i had talked to about the docs. when she heard that i had asked someone else about the docs, she got so insulted. she felt that after all she had done to train me, that i didn't trust her. but i don't think i did anything that bad. i merely wanted to clear things up because my friend's info was so different from the trainer's. to me it was like asking another doctor for a second opinion. what is the big deal?

there has been cold silence between us since then. i wish i could talk it all out with her but i don't think she would ever see things from my point of view. especially the part that i was pissed off at her for blaming me for the error.

i can't wait to be retired....

I hate to say it but I am just soooo tried of my job. The thing is the bosses all seem to be the same after a while. They get lazy and they want to blame YOU. They won't put the blame where it really lies because of politics so they scapegoat you. Doesn't matter if you did 99 things right. If you didn't do 100, you get the blame.

Also, I work in a place where you are expected to dress up. However, I find it offensive that my boss obsesses over that for the smallest things. When someone is going to have a 3 minute meeting with a boss, I do not think they should be dressed like they are going to be presenting to the queen. It is a simple fact, the more you dress up.... the less you get done. So people who are producers tend to not dress to the nines while those who dress up.... ARE LAZY. My boss is lazy. This is why he enjoys dressing up. Not to mention that he has a shower and a closet so it is easy to dress up. To hold those standards to other people is disgusting.

But I resent people who act this way. Clothing as a reflection of respect or clothing as a reflection of quality offends me. It makes me even more determined to dress like crap. I would prefer someone show up, and get the job done. If you want a fashion show perhaps Vogue is where you should be working.

I wanted the fan on that was directed in my work station. My coworker working behind me didn’t want it on because she was cold. But she was very nice about it and seemed concerned about it. I turned it off because I feel like being cold outweighs being hot and is a lot more uncomfortable to deal with. Also I wasn’t wearing my apron today so I had to keep my hoodie on because I was wearing a Spongebob shirt underneath. So it was technically my fault I was hot and uncomfortable.

I got to work this morning, then was immediately told to go home because there was nothing to do. Ok. I was already clocked in so I had to clock right back out. Other people who came in after me were sent home at the door. Management was super apologetic to me because I had a ride who had to immediately turn back around to come get me. I guess now I might be working on Wednesday instead. Now I’m going shopping this morning. My coworker was nice because I was waiting upfront for my ride and she asked if someone was picking me up.

@Mountaindewed, I'm not sure where you live, but here in CA if you come to work, and clock in, then get told to go home, you are entitled to reporting time pay. So you are given pay for half of your regularly scheduled shift, not more than 4 hours and not less than 2 hours. But check with your state (assuming you are in the US) because different states might have different rules. There are also different rules if you hadn't actually clocked in yet. HUGS Kit

After my former coworker got fired a week ago, she has called me everyday talking about the evil-witch boss and about her disrespectful termination. The drama has gotten worse at the workplace too. I'm so tired.

caller id? don't pick up the phone. her drama is just that hers. if she was just a work friend you can tell her that sorry, have no use for your issues now, good luck job hunting ( or hey i'm busy now got a lot on my plate, will call you someday...)

work isn't supposed to be a fun joyous place. it's there to make money & sell a product. sadly drama usually ensues. can't do much about it, except keep your head clear. do your job. work at your level and try not to get involved..because sooner or later things will implode & then explode. if you've been out of the drama loop and just performing well then you are usually safe.

outside of work, walk..do some exercise for 20-30 minutes. it gets you out of the loop and boosts you happiness factor. gives you time spent on yourself and your priorities. eat well. drink in moderation , take meds.....keep you strong.

like I said, can't stop drama, but you can get around it so you won't be involved in the hit.

So I sort of messed up today. Last night I took a bunch of visteral and Xanax and fell asleep around 6. I couldn’t actually pull myself out of bed until 7:30AM. I start work at 6:30. My mom was trying to get me up. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to go but I am not scheduled again until the end of next week. I was able to get to work. I clocked in right at 8. I said to the manager “I’m here.” He had a confused look on his face and said “oh. Ok. Thanks.” And then he turned to my supervisor and said “well that helps us” so it’s like they weren’t even expecting me. I know I was originally supposed to be there Monday but they sent us home right away. I said I could work Wednesday. I technically didn’t tell them what time though so maybe I won’t get into trouble. I still could only stay until my regular time because I had a dentist appointment I couldn’t reschedule. So I only worked 3.5 hours today.

I'm pretty sure my team manager tried to get me to complete his own work today. I pushed back kind of rudely to him because I was really annoyed. I had every right to push it back on his plate, but later I apologized. I felt kind of bad for practically snapping at him.
