I modeled once in high school. And am on this website to advance my music career. Well they added modeling to my profile and sent me a message to audition to this casting. I'm kind of excited about the idea. I submitted my profile. Just have to see how it turns out.

Make sure it is not a scam. If they ask you to pay for anything..(recording, pics etc) then they are not really legit.

It's not a scam. It's for a website I'm part of.

What will you be modeling? How much they ask you pay for your training or whatever else?

It's called starnow.com. It's a place to get your name out there for paid gigs, and unpaid experience. A friend told me about it. Basically I post experience and photos of myself. It's linked me into oportunities. They added modeling to my profile and so why not try. I put in acting and singing.

Same friend told me about bitcoins before it was a thing, I never signed up with bitcoins though, didn't have the money.

It's like 30 bucks every 6 months to maintain this website. You use it as much or as little as you like.

Some reviews I found.

Quote:
“Stay far away from starnow! !!”

If you are in America stay far away from starnow. You will never get a job and once they have your credit card information they will charge your card without your consent or approval and they will refused to refund your money back. Not worth the headache. Look around for company Base right in the USA and use them instead.

Got charged a recurring payment 6 months after I signed up and completely forgot about. They dont send reminders! I requested a refund and cancellation within an hour of the charge. Got a generic response saying it was not possible. I asked to speak to a manager and gave them my phone number (as we cant call them). Finally the CCO emailed be back. I found her response to be partly irrelevant, passive aggressive and sarcastic. She invited me to email her back if I had any further questions, which I did, requesting a refund out of courtesy and good business practice. No response. To me, this is basically theft. Dont use this company which you cannot easily contact and has zero respect for their customers.

Unauthorised payments but hey
Great platform to some extent, they now have jobs for “influencers”. Absolutely ridiculous. My membership ended in JANUARY. I paid for six months upfront then l check my bank statement to see I’ve been charged AGAIN last week even though I have not logged into the website since Feb!!! I’ve delay with this app for almost ten years so I already know I’m NOT getting a refund so have no choice but to continue

StarNEVER! Stay far away from this company...
StarNOW? More like StarNEVER.

This company is very shady in the way they deal with you as a customer.

Now in terms of the service, I haven't been happy with the platform and it hasn't been effective for me. Granted that can happen in the showbiz world . I decided I wanted to cancel membership.

What makes StarNow so poor is their lack of care for customers and charging them after 6 months again, with no transparency or notification that you're due to extend your membership, and their refusal to refund you when you've actually tried to cancel or don't want to use their services anymore.

I have taken this issue up with PayPal and my bank and I will not stop until I am reimbursed with my membership fees!

P.S elsewhere in these reviews, they refunded Ellie on 11 Nov 2018 and in essence, admitted their flawed business dealings. As a fellow customer, I would like the same treatment.

Still a scam. I am yet to hear anyone getting performance or modeling job this way. If you are a singer or an actor or a model, you wouldn’t go this route. What exactly are you planning on modeling? I am not saying you can not model but how realistic is it? I am 53, and I am a decent looking woman (albeit I desperately need to lose 30lb) and I can’t imagine anyone hiring me to model anything? Like what? I think we are close in age?

I am not saying it’s too late to get to those fields but usually people would already have experience by now. Do you have experience in modeling and performing? Please don’t give them your credit card number

I have to agree with Divine. I doubt many people actually get discovered this way.

From other posts you seem sort of obsessed with being discovered, being on reality TV, etc. Honestly, it sounds like you have enough other issues in your life you need to be focusing on rather than that. $30 for 6 months isn’t a lot of money, obviously, but from what you mention about your finances, you could probably put it to better use.
