For a commission job? They pay for my training and licensing. But it's up to me to get clients. It's a great opportunity, but I'm not sure it's right for me. I'm very tempted but I've failed at commission jobs before.

Losing disability benefits is a big deal. Personally I wouldn't chance it for a straight commission job. On the other hand, I presume you can work & earn up to a certain amount of money without jeopardizing your benefits? So perhaps you could try it &, as long as you don't earn too much, you'll be okay? But these sorts of things can be tricky. Personally, before you would decide to accept the job, I would think it would be best to consult the officials with the agency your benefits come from (Social Security?) and perhaps also an attorney who specializes in handling cases related to the type of benefits you have. Perhaps other PC members may be more knowledgeable than I am on this subject. But from my perspective I think it would be important to have your ducks in a row, so to speak, before moving forward especially since you mentioned you've failed at straight commission jobs in the past. Good luck with this though. If it could work for you it might be a door to a whole new beginning!

Never have they paid for my training in the past, that alone is a great opportunity. I have mild success but usually ran out of money. They train with you for 6 months. They offer a base plus commission. I'm more interested in the straight commission. Cause if i fail i don't lose disability. The other way I'd lose disability right away. Just wracking my brain. See my psychiatrist thursday will talk to him.

I wouldn't rush to give up disability. Sales jobs are hard and not consistent, and there's a chance that you could hate it. I'd keep the disability in place and see how things work out. If you find that you're bringing in a lot of income and it would impact your disability you could stop there. It's always a delicate balance, though, because you have to weigh the pros and cons of leaving disability with the ability to work and be independent.

I'd be really slow about it. It sounds iffy to me. Can you work part-time to see if you are good at it?

If the country went into lockdown again would this commission job still be open?

Heck no.

I commend people for getting a job part time while on disability or going into work full time and getting off disability BUT only for full time stable reliable long term livable wages. Not for this craziness. 6 months training?

Bad idea. Sounds like a scam.

I thought you had accepted a different job a few Monaco where they train you to become a radiologist? What happened to that? This one sounds scary.depending on commissions in a COVID world, no way.

They offered that job to another person. Recruited me than decided against me.

Sorry to hear it and maybe other opportunities will come up but don’t go into commission route. It’s not reliable and too stressful not knowing when your next paycheck comes on and what is in there.
Thanks for this!
