I have already made this decision, but I want to ask how many of you would take a break from your job for a year if you had enough put away to live on for said time?

No I would not

I could survive on savings plus I am married and we could theoretically live on one income.

But I work towards pension, so a year of no job would mean I’d have to work extra year to get full pension. I don’t know how I’d be physically and mentally by then soI’d rather not count on working another year when I am older as I might not be in full capacity, so to speak
