Ok i thought i wanted to be a professional, but it's harder than I expected. I'm now interviewing for a less professional job. But if i give up my professional job i give up ever getting off disability and getting a better paying job in my field.
Should i suck it up and suffer for a year or two or do i go with another job that demands less of me? I may have blown the interview i mentioned i was on disability. But he basically wants me to start now. I'm kind of freaking out. I'm not a quitter but I'm thinking of quitting. The job I'm in is just so hard.

Dear Aviza,
That sounds like an incredibly hard decision to make. I wouldn't have the first idea of what to advise you. I do greatly hope that whatever you finally decide will lead to the best possible outcome for you and your life. So sorry I could not be helpful. I am rooting for you! Sincerely yours, Yao Wen |

Transitioning to professional work is always a challenge and so is starting any new job, no matter what. It takes a few months to get your feet wet and to adapt, but once you do adapt, it becomes far easier. I wouldn't run from the challenge just because it's hard. It's hard for everyone who starts a new position. I say rise to the challenge and pursue your goals of getting off of disability.
I fight my way through my depression and anxiety and I work full time. I am on medication that helps me. If you can do it, I say stick it out. IF after a year you still feel the same exact way, then I would say it's time to shift gears.

Dear Aviza
Go for the bigger job. If you really can’t do it, then you can resign. |
