It's not a better fit. The company does not know what the heck they are doing. I was formerly in the Content Team, which made a whole lot more sense. Now I am reporting within the Brand Group, which makes NO sense. I spoke with my former boss and told him I am about ready to resign and quit.

I haven’t read this thread, only saw this post today. I’m sorry to hear this new job isn’t working.

It’s terrible. We spend most of our adult lives at work. Being miserable at work is just not going to cut it. Are there any other prospects out there?

I haven't seen anything yet..... agreed, this level of misery is not going to cut it. I think I already mentioned that I told me boss (former and when I first started) I wish to resign already from the job and company.

I plan on contacting the Unemployment office in my state to see if I may qualify for benefits again and IF I quit my job. I think I've mentioned before that it needs to be due to "good cause" which is defined by U.A. as needing to prove that the job I was hired to do is not the same as the job I am doing. I also have to prove that I made an effort to improve the situation first by informing a higher up, which I have done. I have it in writing that I want to resign.

Good luck. But it would be very hard to prove. Is there anything in your contract that gives them freedom to reassign you? We literally have something in our contract that says very vague that administration reserves their rights to change your assignment to benefit the district. You can argue against it but only up to the point. They acknowledge your concern but then will do what suits them.
My daughter actually left a job that wasn’t what they described to her. She had two jobs offers and she went with the one that offered more money and job description matching what she wanted but when she started it was mostly not what she was told. She was bored out of her mind. Her job field is a combination of couple of things and depending on the set up, it could be more one thing over the other. When she asked them, they said her tasks will vary so eventually it would be more of what she wanted. But she didn’t want to sit and wait. She left that job in a few months but she found a new job first. |

I have contacted an employment lawyer to help me. I will pay the consultation fees to help me to secure and to also qualify for unemployment benefits. I hope I have a good case case for it. __________________ "Twenty-five years and my life is still trying to get up that great big hill of hope for a destination" ~4 Non Blondes |

I spoke with a lawyer last night for one hour. She says I have a stronger claim and case for mental health breakdown occurring in order to qualify for unemployment, but I first must make every effort to make things work and to bring my issue to my supervisor. I don't know if I wish to divulge mental health issues to my supervisor though. Last time I did that it seemed to have backfired on me a bit.

I survived another week somehow. Brutal. Very taxing. I also was up at 3 AM on 2 nights - UGH. But I survived. Pay day this week - the only positive.

Well, I am in a psych ward now with Covid and just signed an offer letter to have. my old job back lol, The CEO approached me about a job, knowing how miserable I am in the current and offered me a position! The two people who had been above me in that company have both been fired since! So no more toxic work environment,
What I am cracking up over is this is all happening while I am in a psych ward and no one has any idea. __________________ "Twenty-five years and my life is still trying to get up that great big hill of hope for a destination" ~4 Non Blondes |

I get to give my notice on Monday for this horrid job. I am giving one week's notice - they may even say, stay a couple days, then go. Who knows? I am SO happy to. be leaving this horrific job that essentially landed me in the psych ward with psychotic symptoms.
Everyone who cares about me says it was the stress of this job that did me in - and the bullying. I think I was re-traumatized by the bullying and that put me in a far more vulnerable state. Either way, I leave the hospital tomorrow and I give my notice on Monday. I may take a full week off before I start my new/old job again. __________________ "Twenty-five years and my life is still trying to get up that great big hill of hope for a destination" ~4 Non Blondes |

It's Monday, and I've decided to not even give one week's notice. Today is going to be my last day at this job. I am telling my boss this morning. Screw them. This job made me sick.

Hopefully they don’t object to that. If they do...Can you give a resignation letter but not work for a week due to current health problem. Do they know about you being in a hospital? You might not be ready for work for all they know .

They did not object. They were surprised and bummed about it, but I just matter of factly stated that today is my last day.
