So, I quit the job that required moving. And, I got another job where I live as a real estate sales agent. I am so happy this time. I feel great!! I will have a full schedule but I'm staying out of trouble still. So, I'm planning to join a church here also. So, I feel quite good. Life is much better since I did not move and found another job where I live.

I'm a bit concerned about my new owner since he does not speak English too well. How is he going to teach us the new sales agents?
I am not sure how is it going to work out but somehow I hope it works out. Thank you so much! |

I did not take the job with the owner who does not speak English. I realized this is real estate and that these companies are always looking for new agents. So, I interviewed with another agency near my apartment. But, I have a reputation of not signing quickly anymore. Thus, the new owner who does speak English told me to stop by this week and meet the other agents. He is taking his time with me. I like his agency better since if I don't make any money, he does not charge any management fees for that month. He has housewives and part-timers working for him as well. He seems fair. I think he has the best system so far. The other owner who did not speak English wanted fees each month and the more you earned, the more he charged for management fees. So, it was a bad deal and he seemed greedy. I noticed this and bailed out by not signing. But, this new owner near my apartment seems decent and extremely interested in me but not pressuring me to sign so quickly. This is a good sign. He is not desperate since he has about ten people working with him. His agency also has the most transactions or biggest volume of transactions in the country for his brand of agency. I am impressed but wonder if I can deliver? I have no knowledge of real estate although I used to be a salesperson in a different field. I have to think about it. If I don't deliver and sell, yes, he does not charge any fees but I think he won't be satisfied? Or, I just won't make money. My mother does not want me to do it. But, her advice is not good for anything. I have to really think about it if I can do real estate.

So, I got the job as a sales/ real estate agent as well as a teaching gig with the same agency. The owner speaks English well so this is good. I am doing ok and will start next year in January. I should be ecstatic that I'm doing well but am tired. I have more jobs to do next year. I like being busy at times but my schedule is a bomb. I work early in the mornings and late at night. It makes me tired. I am glad to be getting more jobs. I wanted to earn more overall. But, I am going to have more expenses with office and management fees now. Thus, I need to earn more as a goal.
I am staying away from trouble. I am not dating for now and am happy about this. I will be ok hopefully and start the new year with new jobs. |

Hey @bpforever1 what about contact tracing? In may of 2020 I took a course online with a fed/government provider and have a certificate. My issue is not having worked in 18 years. I can pm you the name of it if you want. Its free. Most of the jobs are remote or in an educational atmosphere.

Yeah I have a friend who does contact tracing. I don't know much about the job. It seems to be good for him though. __________________ "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it!” |

Most contact tracing jobs in my area are either full time or part time during the day or you have to be available to make calls on demand. This kind of job most likely will not work for people who already have a job. You have to be available for tracing/calling/entering data immediately, not later. So this kind of job is good for someone who doesn’t work, too hard to navigate as a second job

Yeah that's a good point - I didn't consider that you have to be on-demand basically. __________________ "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it!” |

Yeah it’s usually you have to be working during the day 8 hours or if it’s part time you still can’t say “oh I’ll do it in the evening when done with day job.” Especially since you have to call people and if they don’t answer call again

Thank you all for replying!! Happy New Year!!
I've decided that real estate is not a good investment for me. I am going to turn down the job since I have to pay fees to earn a commission. I also don't have an extensive network to call for leads. I am looking for other jobs that I can do again. I found one and will see if they respond. It is a teaching job again. I am happy the way I am although I am paying high taxes. I am sorting out my receipts this year and hiring an accountant to see if it will help reduce my taxes. I would like to earn more money but at the same time, I don't want to overextend myself and be unhealthy and stressed out. I am doing great, as for now. Life is not bad. I am healthy still and am doing well. I hope this year goes well for me and everybody else!! |

Lol, so someone encouraged me to do coding. I am trying to do the free code camp. It is doable and fun for now. I am also brushing up on my math skills at the same time. I like both coding and math. Fun and not too hard for me. I am going to stick with it for a while and see what happens. I don't think I'm interested in web development but am learning it for fun. I looked into this a little further and think big data is interesting. It will take me some time to do all of the certificates but so far it is ok. I don't think I will find a company job with these skills but could find a freelance job if I wanted. I find coding and doing math to be good skills that can potentially turn into something enjoyable and maybe profitable if I stick with it. My mind is fried a bit now from doing math problems but I used to be able to do calculus so am relearning it again. I made a New Year's goal to finish free code camp by the end of this year while brushing up on my math. I don't know if I will be able to do it. If I do finish by the end of this year. I will enroll in a paid course for next year if necessary to build my portfolio. I think this will be a great year. I know that after trying real estate- a scam and thinking about medical translating -being taken over by AI, and medical writing - no job guarantee, that maybe coding and big data are the ticket for me. I'm old but my brain is functioning quite well. I feel blessed. I'm truly glad I did not go into real estate. I never heard that paying all these fees to earn money is a wise thing to do. I figured I would go into debt if I went into real estate. The people who run these businesses are piranhas. They prey on the desperate and rip their lifesaving from them. I'm glad I smelt a rotten carcass and left asap. I will be ok. Before my judgment was quite impaired: now, I feel that my judgment has improved. I will keep persevering. I hope you all are doing well. I am busy again but feel this time I'm on the right path.

You can use your knowledge of coding and math making assignments for students. For example making mystery puzzles like solve the problem right and picture will appear. To make those you need to know some coding. I know math teacher who does that and she makes some money by selling assignments online
