As a temp, I've come to learn that the "end date" of any temp job is just a suggestion. I've learned that asking for a final date is considered a "fireable offense" as that's happened to me when I've asked the client about the real end date - they respond by firing me from the temp job.

Next week is a suggested end date on Tuesday. The recruiter who placed me, tried to convince me to use my last day to do a confirmation/job acceptance for a temp to hire role that I also applied through Indeed as a full-time job candidate. That backfired on me. I told the recruiter that despite next Tuesday being my suggested last date, I wasn't going to leave to interview/start another temp job.

I need every cent I make. I also refuse to kowtow to recruiters and their clients' interview/job start dates when I'm on another assignment. I'm a human being. I need to pay my bills. I deserve to be treated with respect (laughable expectation as a temp, I know).

I texted the recruiter that I had to pass on starting/interviewing for the new client on the same day I'm supposed to finish this assignment. When I asked the recruiter via text if she heard that next Tuesday was my final date: total silence. No answer. The woman who hired me is on vacation until next Tuesday and her human resources person won't give me a straight answer either.

So, until Tuesday comes, I won't know if its indeed my last day, or if I will continue on this assignment, where the admin who I work alongside with, has continued to undermine and sabotage me to no end and makes up lies about me, claiming that other staff complain about me to her (total lie, the staff of 8 all give me work to do and are friendly to me and have never complained to me).

I may not continue next Tuesday based on that admin's lies about me, or the recruiter may have emailed the woman who hired me and told her that I wanted next Tuesday to be my last day because I emailed the recruiter complaining about what the admin was doing (my mistake, I take responsibility for that, whoops, I could have stayed silent).

At least I can rideshare drive to make income while I sort out my job searching. Just a very stressful situation. And by stressful situation, some of which I created myself based on my communication choices with the recruiter about my perception of the other admin's motives and actions towards me. So if this whole situation blows up because of my emails to the recruiter complaining, I take responsibility. I can't control other people, just myself.
