To tell me I don't need to finish out my last week of employment. I had given my 2 weeks' notice.
I'm still processing this information Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk |

@DeeeSchmeee68 sorry to hear that you were asked to not finish out your last week. Bosses can be like that when they know you are leaving and they may figure someone like that is just counting the hours.
Do you have another job lined up? __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

Thank you.
Yes I do have another job. How would I explain that I can start with them earlier than expected? I have a problem staying at a job for very long... Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk |

At the old place of employment, you probably had a contract that obligated you to give a 2 weeks' notice. That did not obligate the employer to actually keep you working for those two weeks. The purpose of the 2 weeks' notice requirement is to give the employer a chance to backfill for you or at least arrange for a transition plan. If the employer does not need that time, the employer is well within their right to have you not show up for the entire 2 weeks. Everyone understands you, your new employer understands it, so there is nothing alarming or unusual in telling the new employer that you will be happy to report to work earlier than originally agreed upon. __________________ Bipolar I w/psychotic features Last inpatient stay in 2018 Geodon 40 mg Seroquel 75 mg Gabapentin 1200 mg+Vitamin B-complex (against extrapyramidal side effects) Long term side effects from medications, some of them discontinued: - hypothyroidism - obesity BMI ~ 38 |
