I’m especially nervous because I have rarely ever had any luck with keeping most jobs for a lot of reasons.

One of them being that I forget a lot & that I’m
A slow learner & I can barely function when I’m under a lot of stress. I’m not good with people too. I often have trouble with being bullied at work. I’m nice & I keep to myself, so I don’t understand why people harass me or are just rude to me at times.

Some of you know that I was recently hired as a food delivery driver. I also thought that this senior guy was going to hire me p/t too, but it turns out that he lied to me since he was to much of a coward to say that he doesn’t think I’d be a good for for him.

He kept telling me to call him then he’d make up excuses & to call him next week & so on.

I should’ve known better. Anyways, I will definitely apply for disability if my new job doesn’t work out for me.

I recently got hired as a care taker for young autistic high functioning adults who need help with cleaning, cooking & running errands.

None of them can drive or work. I don’t need to give them any medication, baths or anything like that.

I’m nervous. I was let go from my delivery job as I made a few mistakes that the company was intolerant of.

I had an issue with a printer & I asked for help printing out the labels. My boss didn’t want to help me & I was already behind so I couldn’t print out the labels for things.

I thought that since the restaurant labeled things, thatI didn’t need to do that but I was wrong. People got confused & complained about their names not being on the food.

Whatever. I was hardly getting any hours & he was irritating me by texting me every few minutes. I hate being micromanaged. I can’t text & drive, ugh! Also, these big tech companies never tipped me more than $5 so eff them!

Anyways, the people at this care giving company seem nicer & more chill so far. I’m finally getting f/t hours 30-32 a week with full benefits after 30 days. That includes vision, dental, medical & life insurance too. Finally!!!!

I’m so nervous as my first client is a manipulator, a drug addict & an alcoholic too. Be also has bad hygiene & is a slob too.

The second one is not as bad. The pay is decent & enough for me to pay most of my monthly expenses, but I’d still need to ask my husband for money to help out with gas probably.

I don’t need to know anything about technology or use any computers , machines or printers which is great as I’m awful with stuff like that.

I’m very relieved that I’ll just be working one on one with people with no boss or coworkers around me all the time.

I just hope that the clients won’t be rude, disrespectful, unreasonable or difficult. I’ll have access to a binder describing their issues, likes & dislikes.

This will be challenging in a way especially since I never did this type of work before.

So I’ll definitely apply for disability if things don’t work put for me this time.

@jesyka, I think being nervous whenever one changes employment is natural for anyone. I was a supervisor for a long time and an officer in the Army, so I have some knowledge of dealing with and managing others. For all of the things you say you have difficulty with, there are spots for all of us. I am betting you are fantastic at some things as well. A good supervisor will recognize them and encourage those in you. I wish you the best of luck, and I bet you will do fantastic in this new endeavor. I can't speak for everyone, but I bet everyone here is rooting for you. So, not just good luck but the best of luck to you.

Thanks. I like my new job. It’s stress free. The other employee there today was chill & so is my client. My other client is trouble but hes going to get evicted soon. I didn’t see him there today.

I literally didn’t do much of anything but sit in the living room & play games, lol.

I did some light cleaning though.

Everyone I met has been nice so far. There’s even a shopping plaza nearby & I can leave & get lunch with another employee there too.

I wouldn’t be able to leave the clients there if I was by myself though.

The other employee had their own client in the group home too.

And I am finally gettf/t hours & will ne getting benefits soon too, yay!!!
