Hi there! New to the forum.
I semi-retired December 2022. Mostly due to chronic health issues. I now work two afternoons a week doing a job I love - providing support to Indigenous youth in public schools. Has anyone else recently retired or semi-retired? How have you found the transition so far? I admit, I was pretty nervous - thinking I'd get super bored. But I don't, and the two afternoons help me stay feeling connected. I'm really glad I made that decision. |

@ForestGhost welcome to MSF. Congratulations on semi retiring. Sounds like you have found meaningful work.
I am retired now for 9 years and I am busier than ever. I volunteer and also do online support groups and so I am busy but happy. Always curioius if people have any pets. I "inherited" an African Gray from my daughter when she moved out. He says good night when I shut out the light for the night and Hey Buddy in the morning. Nice to meet you. Hello and welcome
I went on disability so retirement really wasn’t a thing for me.. I volunteered at various places animal shelters and libraries to stay busy and took classes at the U. I recently moved into a senior housing. That was a big step. I haven’t been so busy in years, have many activities and game s. My biggest challenge is remembering everyone’s name. __________________ Nammu …Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
