I’ve been encouraged to take some time off. Although I am very reluctant to stray from my routine, I do recognize the need for a break. I’m not a traveler, so I’ll be staying home. However, I do want to get out of the house some. I hate driving though, so I won’t be going further than a 45 minute drive in any direction. I’m just putting this here to help me start brainstorming possible ideas…

Long baths (like 2 or more hours!), long walks, live like you would live if you didnt have to work.

spicy books
fancy creative breakfasts for every meal for a day
making a funk playlist and jamming (better in your underwear)
getting some stuff from a craft store and starting a project (maybe even finishing it?)
parks, ponds, local trails, whateva you got in the area
hang out at a coffee shop, even if it's like Dunks or whatever your area's equivalent is, and treat yourself to something outside your norm you'd probably like
spend a day or five in your jammies
shred a branch and sniff the insides

I did it. I requested the 2nd week in July off. I will find out Monday if it’s a go. Thank you for the great suggestions unaluna and Muddy Boots! I will definitely be taking long walks and working on creative projects.

It’s happening! My boss said they were nervous about me being gone and I am too, but it definitely improved my mood today knowing I wouldn’t have to deal with work next week. Eek!

You have any museums in your area? Movie theaters? Parks you can go for walks. Favorite DVDs or series you can binge for a day?

I like going to the bookstore and looking around. I also like to go visit pet shelters and interact with the animals. Speaking of... zoom or animal sanctuary to visit? I enjoy going to the movies as well, speaking of... sign up for a streamer and watch some shows.

Whenever I do a staycation I like to play tourist in my hometown. I go to museums, tourist attractions that I haven't visited in a while and small neighbourhoods that have interesting stores and just browse them. It can be fun.

I am on vacation this week. It is a staycation.

I just love the feeling of having all this time for me to do whatever I want.
