i know what that is like, completely! i use to be awake until 6am or 7am before i could get myself to sleep. i'm still like that, up until around 3am. i find that watching tv shows keeps my mind at bay for an hour at a time. my mind focuses on what the show is about and happening, so my mind doesn't get to wonder!
and as for sleep, i play music on my cd player. each cd is like an hour, so if i make it to the end of the cd and still can't sleep, i get up and do something: watch tv, go on the computer, have a snack... then about an hour later, i try it all again. it's been working really well for me, at least a year now. so if you ever need someone to talk to in the early morning hours, i'm always awake so just let me know! take care and hope this helps...
