I just cannot seem to find any sleep and when I lay down my mind just runs. I feel scared and I am feeling something within me just taking control and I cannot seem to stop this feeling. Why is it that in the night is when these feelings seem so strong? And why is it that I cannot just put the brakes on for a few hours?
I cannot explain this feeling but it is something that seems unrelenting. I am so exhausted yet there is no rest. I know I am feeling stress and loss but nothing I have not been having. Thoughts fill my mind and I try to shut them off but they seem to get louder. Fear is something I feel a lot of right now. I know why and yet I do not know how to stop it. If only I knew what was going on within my heart maybe I could stop it. But it seems to want to stop me. I feel very anxious and like I need to run or go somewhere. I know I need to just breathe and calm myself yet something inside is anything but calm. A feeling I have had so many times lately. Trying to be in control in a very out of control state. And pulling within quiet trying to keep everyone else from knowing. Why is that? I do not know if any of this made sense but it is what is on my mind right now. Thank you for listening. dps |

Sometimes doing the opposite can relieve the stress. Get up out of bed and exercise, move about and as far away from that bed (and feelings) as you can get. Move your body and mind away. Physically doing it may help....and they will follow you, but maybe you can stay one step ahead of them, and in this way relax. If you can find that glimmer of relaxation you can build on it. It's not something that 'comes', it's something to work on......Good luck...Y

Makes a lot of sense to me, I went through the same thing a while back, I came to the conclusion sadly that I had to wait it out and it would pass, and it did. I still have a lot of problems with sleep but it is getting better! I try to stay in Reality and I can better manage most of my worries and stress.
So happy to see your post, it seems to me I have not read any from you in a little while. I wish you were feeling better though! ![]() |

i know what that is like, completely! i use to be awake until 6am or 7am before i could get myself to sleep. i'm still like that, up until around 3am. i find that watching tv shows keeps my mind at bay for an hour at a time. my mind focuses on what the show is about and happening, so my mind doesn't get to wonder!
and as for sleep, i play music on my cd player. each cd is like an hour, so if i make it to the end of the cd and still can't sleep, i get up and do something: watch tv, go on the computer, have a snack... then about an hour later, i try it all again. it's been working really well for me, at least a year now. so if you ever need someone to talk to in the early morning hours, i'm always awake so just let me know! take care and hope this helps... |
