We know it isn't easy to pull out of or to just up and do something to "change" our "mood" because mood doesn't affect depression but depression affects mood which makes the resultant moods and thoughts much more difficult to control.
I lose my appetite with depression. Until recently when my partner had a heart attack I would miss at least two meals a day. When he came home from hospital and I had to give him 3 full meals a day with morning tea, afternoon tea and supper.
To keep his spirits up I started to eat with him. and three things have started to happen; my depression has improved, my moods are less intense and I have actually started to shed weight, and that is in less than a couple of weeks.
I knew that food had a bearing on mood and depression, as an example chocolate will mop up any vitamin B that is floating around in the blood so if you are a chocolate freak it's a waste of time taking vitamin B because it is eradicated.
Anyway eating 3 healthy meals a day may have a bearing on how energized you feel and how much energy you have to actually do other things that may focus your mind on things other than feeling down or low.
Take care and please understand that we are here to support you as best we can,
Rhiannon
