there is no set way to dissociate and different locations and treatment providers have different standards of what they consider to be dissociation.

example some locations and treatment providers consider daydreaming to be a type of dissociation others dont. Some locations consider feeling numb to be a type of dissociation some dont. Some locations and treatment providers dont have or recognize the term dissociation and disorders of such. Some locations call what we americans call dissociation by other terms.

we all dissociate in our own ways. and what is dissociation depends on our locations and our own treatment providers.

Since it is your therapist that said you are dissociating go according to what that treatment provider has told you. if you dont understand what she told you, talk with her again so she can explain what the term is in relation to your location, her therapy standards and what is going on with you.
