(((((((((((hugs safe)))))))))) please dont cry its going to be ok maybe not right this second but it will be ok. i have dissociative identity disorder and i am from alabama also and it has taken me years to come to terms with it i was dropping in and out of therapy because it would just be to much. i have recieved alot of good information and support on here im not asking you to read my post because it could be triggering but the replies to my post had alot of helpful tips and ideas to help. im still trying to reach a point with my diagnosis of acceptance and how to take care of myself and those inside who depend on me. i hope this is making sense. just hang in there and wait for the wise ones here to post they are full of knowledge understanding and support. i can be here also to help you with my limited tidbits cuz im learning also but i will be whatever it is you need from me "us" thank you for posting that was very brave and the first step toward being "ok" with what is happening inside

example some locations and treatment providers consider daydreaming to be a type of dissociation others dont. Some locations consider feeling numb to be a type of dissociation some dont. Some locations and treatment providers dont have or recognize the term dissociation and disorders of such. Some locations call what we americans call dissociation by other terms. we all dissociate in our own ways. and what is dissociation depends on our locations and our own treatment providers. Since it is your therapist that said you are dissociating go according to what that treatment provider has told you. if you dont understand what she told you, talk with her again so she can explain what the term is in relation to your location, her therapy standards and what is going on with you. ![]() |

AngelPromise - can you tell us a little bit about what happened? Maybe some can help about what this dissociation is about. According to amadalouise - a therapist can use scary terms to things that may be natural - but just a little bit too much.
