Depression is a real and not infrequently weird illness. Sometimes my mood overreacts to a minor stimulus and underreacts to a major stimulus. It's as if my mood has a "mind" of its own.
Additionally,
other illnesses can present with symptoms frequently associated with depression. If you are in a position to get a full medical screening, that would be best.
