lately i've been going through REALLY bad phases of depression that just seem to hit me out of nowhere for no particular. i've been wondering if this is something that i should bring up with my social worker or not as one of the last times it got really bad and i ended up trying in hospital from a drug overdose.
so i was just wondering if it would be worth asking to get tested for depression and such things?

Depression is a real and not infrequently weird illness. Sometimes my mood overreacts to a minor stimulus and underreacts to a major stimulus. It's as if my mood has a "mind" of its own.

Additionally, other illnesses can present with symptoms frequently associated with depression. If you are in a position to get a full medical screening, that would be best.

Wishing you the best!

thank you very much, also i actually recently went to see my gp who i actually had to see for a while because i tried to kill myself and he seemed to think i was a lot happier than normal and i didn't know how to tell him i wasn't alright because i don't feel comfortable talking to him.
but i do feel more comfortable talking to my social worker about it so i'll do that
