Hello & Welcome, Justwanttobehappy! Without getting him to a doctor it is not possible to determine just what is going on with him. It certainly could be depression by itself, but, as Visalissa suggests, he could be suffering from another illness with the mood disorder on top of it.
You yourself can call a crisis line if your husband won't talk to anyone.
