Would it be easier for you if you e-mailed him? Sometimes it's easier if you're not "looking" at the person or actually talking to them. Putting it down on 'paper' is sometimes easier. And he might be more apt to be honest with you in a reply e-mail too.
The way he's acting could be part of his disorder too. He might be having a particularly bad time at present. So try not to push TOO hard -- hopefully he'll tell you in the e-mail what's going on.
If the two of you didn't have any argument or misunderstanding, I don't think I'd worry too much. Just write him, and see what happens. But like I said, try not to pressure him TOO much -- you don't want to scare him away. God bless and good luck! Hugs, Lee
