This happens to me too. It might be like this for you too, but for me it has to do with stretching myself thin. I go to all my classes, do all my assignments, work really hard, and basically give everything 110%. Except you can't keep that up for long. Eventually, I just run out of steam. Then when I can't give everything 110%, I feel like a failure, so I pretty much stop trying all together. It's like the first time I miss a class, that's the beginning of the end...

This semester is going to be different though. The minute I get my syllabi for the year, I'm going to sit down and plan it out so that I don't get overwhelmed half way through. I used to write down in my calendar when all the exams were and essays due, but I think I need more structure than that. Maybe go through and break down the chapters that might be assigned into pages per day, but giving myself some wiggle room like planning on not doing homework every day. I'm thinking about talking to the professors early on to see if they have some advice or some time management help or something.

But yes, I'm in the same boat. I'm not going to be able to get my BA until I can prove that I can survive a semester without withdrawals or incompletes.
