If she is indeed a narcissist, then yes, it is all about her, by definition. Her song is stuck on one note: "Mi, mi, mi." (Me, me, me.) My mom is suspected to be one, too. Does she seem to want to live through you---taking credit and pride in your accomplishments way beyond what seems normal? (And getting mad if you do things that she thinks reflect badly on her?)

I am so sorry she is trying to steal your thunder. Perhaps it would be best from now on that you don't tell her about your hopes and dreams.....She will not be able to be a mother that you can have a "normal" relationship with, alas.
