In the past, when my room is an absolute state and I get overwhelmed just looking at it, I draw my bedroom (bird's eye view) onto a piece of paper with my furniture on it, and divide it into quadrants. Then I do a quadrant a day and tick it off on the paper when I'm done. The only rule is that you have to put the stuff away properly and not just move it to other quadrants

Should probably do it myself cos my room is a tip again!
My grandfather had a fall this evening. He has no idea how he did it (he has dementia), but luckily he remembered to phone us so we could go and check how bad it was. Luckily his head doesn't need stitches, but he's going to have one heck of a bruise! Don't know how much longer he's going to be able to stay on his own (though he is in sheltered accommodation) :/
