Exercise helps, even just dancing around to music. Finding something to do with your hands like a craft or cooking also helps.
Maybe try some meditations? There are guided meditations on YouTube and sometimes thy help me sleep and definitely help anxiety.
And I agree with MM - prepare for the crash.
As a last resort I have taken Benadryl during the day to calm me down but only when I was severely manic and at risk of hurting myself if I didn't.
